Qualifications, clinical knowledge and years of experience are key ingredients in making a ‘good’ Physiotherapist. But what makes a ‘fantastic’ Physiotherapist are their interpersonal skills, allowing patients to feel cared for and listened to. Here at Mav Movements, the following qualities are at the core of our values:
We care and we listen to you. In order to understand your health problem and to get to the root cause we focus on listening to your needs and treating you with care and consideration.
It can be quite daunting attending Physiotherapy and undergoing a physical examination for the first time. At all times we respect your wishes and we treat you with the utmost dignity. We explain each part of the assessment so that you know what’s coming next. You also have the opportunity to refuse at any point.
Here at Mav Movements, we will only recruit Physiotherapists with excellent bed-side manners. Our testimonials are evidence of this. Communication is fundamental to our values. We always ensure that we keep you well informed. We explain your diagnosis to you in a language you can understand. We then discuss the plan of action with you, making you an active part of the recovery plan. Our lead Physiotherapist can also speak fluent English, Gujarati and Hindi during your sessions.
At all times we will be honest, open and ethical with you as per our professional codes of conduct. We also ensure that your confidentiality is always protected. Our patients instantly recognise the confidence we have in our own skills, knowledge and experience.
We ensure that we adhere to our professional values and behaviour according to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).
We really do work hard to ensure that the patients’ journey is a smooth, pleasant and enjoyable one from start to finish. We attend regular Continuing Professional Development courses in order to keep up-to-date with the latest clinical skills and techniques. We deliver a high standard of care with the patients’ needs at the centre which can be seen clearly in our testimonials.
